This was a project I created for myself. I was browsing the internet one day and saw a rough metal sign with the quote, "Together is our favorite place to be." I loved that sign, but I wasn't going to pay the amount of money the website was wanting for it, so I decided I was going to make my own sign with that quote.

When I was on vacation with my family at a beach in North Carolina, I came across a driftwood piece of 4x4 that had washed up on shore. I knew I could do something with it, so I put it in the truck and brought it home. Once home, I started to plan out the sign with very rough sketches which included layout options and colors. I personally love dark wood tones and blue and silver so I knew I wanted to incorporate those finishes in this project.

This sign was something very special because I found the main material by chance and kept the natural shape of the driftwood piece. I stenciled on the letters after staining the wood and followed the imprints left behind with paint. This project took a lot of patience and attention to detail to accomplish the finished product I desired.
