I took on this project because my parents had a dining room table that was nearly 20 years old and it definitely showed its age. My parents had been wanting a new dining table, but when visiting furniture stores, they could never find one they would both agree on. By finding photos of tables they each liked individually, I was able to sketch out options and have them choose which they preferred. Blending their different styles together was difficult, but I think everything came together very well.
The table is in the rustic farmhouse style and have supports in the middle of the table so those who sit at the table don't hit their knees when they sit at the table. When I first constructed the table, it was the standard counter height, however, a few months down the road, my parents had found some new dining room chairs. The chairs they bought were pub height, so the table needed to be boosted up to accommodate the height of the chairs.
